Toddlers’ ‘Twinkle sign’ ban
TODDLERS have been banned from making a sign while singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star — because it could be offensive to the deaf.
The gesture, which children use when singing "like a diamond in the sky", is similar to "vagina" in sign language.
Parents at the Sure Start mother and toddler group in Acomb, North Yorks, slammed the move.
One said: "These are innocent children. Now every parent may worry their child is making an offensive gesture."
But a spokeswoman for City of York Council — which is responsible for the group — insisted it was "a sensible decision to stop deaf children or parents being offended".

I'm offended that some asswipe decided that a child's sign for star was used for the sign of a pussy! I bet someone putting up their thumb to hitch hike is really graphic in the world of the deaf. A "thumbs up" would get you slapped.

Man Sees 'Mark of the Beast'; Cuts Off, Microwaves Hand
HAYDEN, Idaho — A man who believed he bore the "mark of the beast" used a circular saw to cut off one hand, then he cooked it in the microwave and called 911, authorities said.
The man, in his mid-20s, was calm when Kootenai County sheriff's deputies arrived Saturday in this northern Idaho town. He was in protective custody in the mental health unit of Kootenai Medical Center.
"It had been somewhat cooked by the time the deputy arrived," sheriff's Capt. Ben Wolfinger said. "He put a tourniquet on his arm before, so he didn't bleed to death. That kind of mental illness is just sad."
It was not immediately clear whether the man has a history of mental illness. Hospital spokeswoman Lisa Johnson would not say whether an attempt was made to reattach the hand, citing patient confidentiality.
The Book of Revelation in the New Testament contains a passage in which an angel is quoted as saying: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink the wine of God's fury."
The book of Matthew also contains the passage: "And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for you whole body to do into hell."

Finally a person willing to actually live his life as God commands and follow the very explicit teachings from God in the bible. The world is full of Christians that preach the Bible yet have never opened it up to receive the lessons from their Lord. Attackers Sever Holy Man's 'Magic Leg' in India HYDERABAD, India — Two men attacked an 80-year-old, self-proclaimed holy man in southern India and chopped off his right leg, apparently believing it had magical powers, police said Thursday. Yanadi Kondaiah, who claimed that those who touched his leg would be cured of illness or have wishes granted, was hospitalized in serious condition after the attack Tuesday, said R. Ravindranath Reddy, a senior police officer. "This seems to be a case of superstition. The two people might have taken away the leg hoping to benefit from its magical powers," said Pendakanti Dastgiri, the police officer handling the case. Superstitions, belief in magic and the occult remain widespread in much of rural India. Kondaiah told police that two men offered him a drink as thanks for previously helping them with his magical touch. After he passed out drunk, the men chopped off the leg below the knee with a sickle and left him to die, said Dastgiri, adding that passing villagers found him and took him to a hospital.

DETROIT -- A feud between rival gas stations owners over lowering gas prices ended with one owner fatally shot and the other in police custody Friday morning. Police said the owner of the Marathon gas station at Fort and Springwells streets lowered the price of unleaded gas from $2.96 to $2.93. The owner and an employee of the BP gas station across the street began arguing with him over the lowered prices, according to police. The owner came out with a gun and shot the other owner three or four times.

In her speech, Griffin said that "a lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus." Just a handful of generations ago such a statement would have earned you a slow torturous death over hot coals in this country at the hands of the same self-righteous Catholic do-gooders! That makes perfect sense to the believers and anyone that finds that odd must be silenced. How can Jesus be blamed for allowing children to starve to death when much larger issues are constantly being brought before him? When little Josh's mommy prays to the lord to let the little kid's soccer team advance into the quarterfinals on the weekend what is Jesus to do? He has to pick and choose priorities. Since America's religious right has forced the US government to print "In God We Trust" on everything it produces that moves American kids to the front of the line. Little Josh's team wins and Hodgie covered in flies, dies crying for food in a ditch in central Asia. Jesus is left with the tough dicisions like helping a gangster thug in south LA win an award for a rap song or help a toddler strapped in and forgotten in the back seat of a car on a hot day from baking to death while mommy is sitting in an airconditioned beauty parlor. Ours is not to ask why but to accept it as Gods way. Actions are louder than words. Amen... Accept this religious logic as "God works in mysterious ways" or be silenced as hateful..... where is the difference between the politicians of Communist China outlawing any free speech counter to the party line and the Democratic Party's controlling interest, MoveOn.org attempting to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine to shut down the right wing radio talk shows and sabotaging the advertising revenues to force any media not parroting their party's line out of business in a blatant "our way or you are out of business" take over? NONE!!!!! Any Political Party, being Communist or Democrat that feels the need to silence opposing voices do so out of desperation. Both know their position won't stand the light of day if compared to the dissenting voices. This only confirms that the Dems know their positions are wrong on to many issues to attempt an honest debate of their core agenda. | Transsexual trucker is 'hounded out' for wearing make-up
A transsexual is seeking thousands of pounds in damages after claiming he was forced out of his job as a truck driver when he started dressing as a woman. Vikki-Marie Gaynor, 37, who was born a man, claims bosses started cancelling his shifts when he dropped his old name, Mike, and started wearing women's clothes, earrings and make-up to work. 'But almost as soon as I told them I was changing my name to Vikki-Marie and entering the transition stage of my gender reassignment things changed. I started getting hurtful comments... Is it Just Me or.... Now here's a case where some wacko truck driver in the UK decided to start wearing women's clothing and make-up to work and was completely caught off guard by his being treated differently by other truckers... So much so he is suing his employer for £20,000 (over $41,000) in damages because his life has been ruined! So let me get this right...If I want to pay cash for a new car all I have to do is wear a dress to work and alienate my coworkers, cry foul and wait for my employer to fork over the cash...Sounds like a plan to me! Get over it you silly faggot. Because you have psychological issues that cause you to not fit in with the norm of society that does not give you the right to hand out punishment to any and all that recognize that you have psycho issues and don't fit into society. | Workers sue U.S. factory after immigration raid By Jason Szep BOSTON (Reuters) - Workers including 361 illegal immigrants were cheated of hundreds of thousands of dollars in overtime pay at a factory at the center of a high-profile raid in Massachusetts, according to a lawsuit filed on Tuesday. The class-action lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Boston on behalf of 500 workers, follows a raid by federal immigration agents on March 6 that drew criticism of the Bush administration's immigration policy and brought national attention to the perils facing undocumented workers. Dozens of children were stranded when 361 workers at Michael Bianco Inc., which makes equipment and apparel for the U.S. military, were arrested by federal agents in New Bedford, a port city about 55 miles south of Boston. Many of the immigrants were initially held at a decommissioned Army base in Massachusetts before being flown to Texas. The case, separate to a lawsuit
filed in March by the arrested immigrants against the U.S. government,
accuses Michael Bianco Inc. of setting up a fictional company, Front
Line Defense, to pay employees who had worked overtime.
It said the company channeled payroll through Front Line to avoid a federal law requiring workers be paid time and a half for overtime. "In a lot of ways, what they did unfortunately is not out of the ordinary. The practices are very common in a wide range of workplaces, especially those that use predominantly immigrant workers," said Audrey Richardson, an attorney with Greater Boston Legal Services, which represents the workers. GEORGETOWN, Guyana (AP) - A crowd of Guyanese villagers lynched an elderly woman they accused of being an evil spirit who drinks the blood of human babies, police said Monday. Authorities in the South American country said the woman raised suspicions with unusual behavior and was set upon by villagers who apparently believed she was an "Old Higue"—the equivalent of a vampire in the local Obeah religion that blends folk magic and African rituals. The woman, was beaten to death. Police have arrested three people and are questioning others. Some expressed surprise at the persistence of belief in Higues, a creature said to take the shape of an old woman who can shrink herself to enter victims' homes through a keyhole.
